Greetings! At this point I am "so close" to publishing TESLA'S SIGNAL. Then again, I've been "so close" for about six weeks! At the end of December I ordered my first proof. So excited to have a REAL book in my hands that I wrote!! It was the fulfillment of a lifelong dream: "I have created a Book".
Then I started casually opening pages. And finding little glitches.
Like quote marks that didn't look right.
And missing periods.
Words that were repeated twice in the same paragraph.
Places where I missed a tiny but critical detail.
Even whole pages that needed to be tightened and reworked.
It took me a month before I ordered my second proof. "This will be it," I said.
Oh, really? Now I'm going through the second proof with an even BIGGER magnifying glass. Finding more "little glitches". Like quote marks, missing punctuation, etc.
So, it will probably be another month before the Big Day.
Well? What's the hurry? Better to drag my feet now, than hold the published book in my hands and go "Ooooh, look at that glaring error! Why didn't I catch that? What was my hurry?"
